Three pieces for piano
Duration: 12 minutes
This piece was written as a thank-you to Stanley Glasser for all the support he gave me while I was a student and junior lecturer at Goldsmiths' College. It was first performed at a celebration to mark his retirement from the position of Head of Music at Goldsmiths'. Because of our shared interest in jazz, the piece has many jazz tinged inflections as well as a deliberately improvisatory feel. Indeed much of the music was improvised at the keyboard, played into a sequencer and edited into the finished product. There are three short movements.
